Position Summary
The Quality Assurance & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring material quality, accuracy, and availability across the supply chain. This role supports QA/QC inspections, shipping and logistics administration, vendor coordination, inventory management, and on-site vendor verification of parts and materials. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to travel to supplier locations to confirm compliance with specifications and purchase requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC):
- Perform incoming material inspections to verify conformance with drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and quality standards.
- Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with vendors, procurement, and engineering to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Shipping & Logistics Administration:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and vendors.
- Prepare and track shipping documents, packing lists, bills of lading, and delivery confirmations.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve delays or discrepancies.
- Support export/import or special handling requirements as needed.
Vendor Visits & Parts Verification:
- Travel to vendor and supplier facilities to verify parts, materials, and assemblies prior to shipment.
- Conduct on-site inspections to confirm quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications.
- Communicate findings to internal teams and follow up on required corrections.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records for materials, parts, and equipment.
- Track material usage, shortages, and reorder points.
- Perform periodic cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Coordinate material staging, labeling, and storage in compliance with company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in quality, logistics, supply chain, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience in QA/QC, logistics coordination, inventory management, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and purchase documents.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with inventory systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness and ability to travel to vendor locations as required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with industrial, mechanical, or engineered components.
- Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, internal QA procedures, or similar).
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and freight coordination.
